Disney World (post #7)
One of my favorite memories is of my trip to Disney World with my older sister, Jennifer. We went for my twenty-first birthday in August of 2016. We stayed at the Pop Century Disney World resort so we were able to take advantage of the "Extra Hours" perk of staying on Disney property. Since Jennifer had worked in the Disney College Program, she was an expert on all the parks. She helped us plan what we should do and at what time to maximize our experience and avoid waiting in long lines.
I was so nervous about the plane ride to Florida! It was my first time on a plane as an adult and I did not know what to expect. When the plane took off, the speed and angle at which it traveled were terrifying to me. I was convinced the plane would not make it off the ground. But miraculously we did, and before I knew it we were in Orlando, Florida disembarking the plane.
I could not possibly choose a favorite part of the trip because there were so many fantastic moments with my beloved sister. We ate breakfast at The Garden Grill while Disney characters roamed about, and went on so many fun rides. The picture below is of my sister and I posing with Minnie Mouse during a Character Meeting. Another memorable part of our trip was eating dinner at The Contemporary while overlooking the boat parade and evening fireworks display as the accompanying music was played in the restaurant. It was certainly a magical vacation, and I would relish the opportunity to go back.

Hello Heather, I can totally relate to your experience at Disney. Many have the opportunity to visit Disney as children and live its magical moments at a time when creativity is at its prime. However, I do not regret going in 2018 with my entire family, as adults, and have the opportunity to be children once again. It was amazing, the three days that we were there, it was all stress free and I would get excite with each ride or character I saw.
ReplyDeleteAs for the exercises you used for the post, I enjoyed the passive and active voice activity where you have the students change it to its alternative voice.
Thank you for sharing such a fond memory.
A good entry on Disney! I really like your grammar point on the active and passive voice and the activity.
